Marrakech recap

Hey guys!! I'm back from Morocco with tons of pictures..these are just a few of my favorite from our trip.

The YSL Museum
This was one of my favorite parts of the trip. It was so nice. Yves Saint Laurent would make these posters every year and send them out to friends as a gift for the new year.

All of the colors were so vibrant and pretty

Snakes at the Jemaa el Fna (the main square)

Walking through the souks. We got a tour guide for a day, which was one of the best ideas. He showed us around places we would have never found, took us to museums, and even haggled with some souk owners and got us good deals!

Ben Youssef Museum

He even took us to see how traditional Moroccan scarves are made.
P.S. I bought a few for my store!

Hanging out on the rooftop terrace of our riad. A Riad is sort of like a B&B, a building that has been converted into guestrooms, they usually have an open courtyard in the middle of the building-- which is amazing. They are literally hundreds of Riads in Marrakech, I am so happy with the one I picked for us. It was super easy to find and very close to the main square where all the action is. We met a few other people that always had a hard time finding their Riad and ran into a few problems trying to look for it. I'm SO happy we never had any problem, besides getting lost in the Souks, which everyone says is part of the Marrakech experience. lol

Hilarious! I was too scared to get on the camel so Josh did it. He was actually really scared too because his camel seemed upset and kept making weird noises.

This crazy ass mountain we walked up to see a waterfall. We scheduled a tour of the Atlas mountain through our riad, but we were never really told exactly what we would be doing. So we didn't find out about the hiking part until we started walking. Let me tell you..this was no joke! It was about 85 degrees and it was a 45 minute hike up rocks and tiny bridges. It was a really pretty waterfall, but I was seriously scared for my life getting there lol

I made it!!

They had the best orange juice I've ever tasted.

Proof that I actually cooked! If you know me or follow me on twitter you know I do not like to cook. At all. But Josh does, so I planned a cooking class for us at this beautiful farm. It was suppose to be a class of 6 people but the other group made different plans so it ended up being just Josh and I, which was really nice.

This trip was definitely my favorite so far! Everyone we met was really nice, it was such a great experiences to see how other people live and the different culture. It's hard to explain all of the crazy-ness that goes on in the Jemaa el Fna and the medina (where we stayed). There are literally people everywhere-- selling stuff, zipping by in a scooter car or horse, snake charmers, monkeys, food stalls. It's definitely not for the timid. It's like a huge festival that happens every single day. At first your a little taken back, but after the first day I really loved it. It was a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend going!
