Can I vent for a sec guys?! I am feeling stressed out! This new home, work, school, trying to keep up with the store and blog is a lot of work. I feel like I don't have enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do. I've basically abandoned the blog and my store. Although I am working on something new with my store.. it's really exciting!! (I'll get to that in another post)
It's been about 3 weeks since we've moved into the new house and we are still living out of boxes. We have living room chairs and a dinning table still packed away, because we have to paint. No sofa so we're sitting on lawn chairs. Our TV broke so we need to add that to the growing list of "stuff we need"
It's starting to drive me crazy. I may be a little impatient, but I want everything to be done right now.
The to-do List for this weekend includes:
Pick up the new dresser and end table (which I thrifted for only $60 for both! And it was exactly what I wanted!)
Pick up barbecue grill-- we need to enjoy our backyard before the summer ends!
Paint the living room, dining room, and bedroom. (I'm hoping to get them all done.. wishful thinking)
Set up the guest bedroom ( I'm still waiting for our new bed for the master)
Set up my office
Shop for my store
Not sure if I'll get to everything, especially because Josh has to work all weekend. Thank god for my super helpful father, who I'll be dragging along to help me. lol
I've spoken to people who said they didn't get everything done in their house for months, so I know this whole thing is a process and I should enjoy it. Honestly I really am so grateful to even have a home, but some days (like today) thinking of everything that needs to be done drives me a little crazy.
OK. END RANT.
THANKS FOR LISTENING. : )
Hopefully I'll be back with an outfit post soon. I promise I still dress really cute (at least in my opinion lol)
Oh girl. I've actually been wanting to email you for a few days because of all the STRESS I have been feeling to. I actually told Jared, "I don't know why I bought a F------ house because I'm not handy with anything!!" Although, youtube taught me how to recaulk my shower. LOL.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I totally understand where you are coming from. We still need bedside tables. We discovered that a spigot on the outside of our house leaks into the basement. We got a call from the code enforcement in our city because a tree we had on the back corner of the property was obstructing the view of cross traffic. So we had to call someone to take it down. She also informed us of all the insane amount of bushes and trees planted around our house that are non-native to the area and will eventually become so big they will destroy our foundation. More projects. Then I went to clean the tub and pulled up the bath mat the sellers left in the tub and the whole freaking tub is chipped and the paint is coming off in clumps!!!
I seriously want to pull my hair out. Not to mention the disgusting amount of spiders around our property. But we just sprayed, so hopefully they will die/run away soon.
Seriously, I couldn't feel more stressed out. Maybe I should start having "desserts" every night!!
Let's take it one day at a time girl. One day at a time. :)

Hang in there girl! If it helps, know that you don't have to do EVERYTHING for the house immediately. We bought our house over 2 years ago and we're still working on furnishing it and stuff. :)

UGH no kidding eh!? A coworker of mine just bought a house and needs to paint, re-do the roof, get a new furnace, re-do the basement windows, and re-do the flooring.
ReplyDeleteTalk about never-ending projects. I can't imagine how it feels to be a homeowner lol.
But, having a house is amazing and once you are settled, you'll be so so so much happier than you ever were. I'm sure of it :)
