The Windy City

The skyline in the reflection of the "bean"

kinda trippy inside the bean.

I wanted these so bad, but they were too small.

We found a few awesome vintage stores. I wanted to pick up so many things but I didn't have any room in my suitcase : /

I took my camera out only one day we were in Chicago. You can see more photos of the other day on my instagram. We spent two days wandering the streets, visiting tourist spots, shopping, and eating way too much. Have you ever had Chicago style pizza?! I ate it for lunch and was literally stuffed until the next day! lol I had a great time, it was nice to just have a week off from everything.

The weekend I got back home, I had a little All For You.. party at my house. More on that in a few days..

Miami packing

My best-friend and I are going to Miami at the end of the month for a weekend and I have been thinking non-stop about what I'm going to pack. I didn't think packing for Miami would be harder than Morocco! lol I want to bring all of my clothes. But I think most of the day is going to be spent at the beach or pool so easy comfortable looks is the way to go.

Since it's more of a relaxing getaway than a party trip, I'm most likely going to bring just one fancy night-out outfit. I put together some looks on polyvore of what I'm thinking of bringing that's similar to my own closet.

Marrakech recap

Hey guys!! I'm back from Morocco with tons of pictures..these are just a few of my favorite from our trip.

The YSL Museum
This was one of my favorite parts of the trip. It was so nice. Yves Saint Laurent would make these posters every year and send them out to friends as a gift for the new year.

All of the colors were so vibrant and pretty

Snakes at the Jemaa el Fna (the main square)

Walking through the souks. We got a tour guide for a day, which was one of the best ideas. He showed us around places we would have never found, took us to museums, and even haggled with some souk owners and got us good deals!

Ben Youssef Museum

He even took us to see how traditional Moroccan scarves are made.
P.S. I bought a few for my store!

Hanging out on the rooftop terrace of our riad. A Riad is sort of like a B&B, a building that has been converted into guestrooms, they usually have an open courtyard in the middle of the building-- which is amazing. They are literally hundreds of Riads in Marrakech, I am so happy with the one I picked for us. It was super easy to find and very close to the main square where all the action is. We met a few other people that always had a hard time finding their Riad and ran into a few problems trying to look for it. I'm SO happy we never had any problem, besides getting lost in the Souks, which everyone says is part of the Marrakech experience. lol

Hilarious! I was too scared to get on the camel so Josh did it. He was actually really scared too because his camel seemed upset and kept making weird noises.

This crazy ass mountain we walked up to see a waterfall. We scheduled a tour of the Atlas mountain through our riad, but we were never really told exactly what we would be doing. So we didn't find out about the hiking part until we started walking. Let me tell you..this was no joke! It was about 85 degrees and it was a 45 minute hike up rocks and tiny bridges. It was a really pretty waterfall, but I was seriously scared for my life getting there lol

I made it!!

They had the best orange juice I've ever tasted.

Proof that I actually cooked! If you know me or follow me on twitter you know I do not like to cook. At all. But Josh does, so I planned a cooking class for us at this beautiful farm. It was suppose to be a class of 6 people but the other group made different plans so it ended up being just Josh and I, which was really nice.

This trip was definitely my favorite so far! Everyone we met was really nice, it was such a great experiences to see how other people live and the different culture. It's hard to explain all of the crazy-ness that goes on in the Jemaa el Fna and the medina (where we stayed). There are literally people everywhere-- selling stuff, zipping by in a scooter car or horse, snake charmers, monkeys, food stalls. It's definitely not for the timid. It's like a huge festival that happens every single day. At first your a little taken back, but after the first day I really loved it. It was a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend going!

Planning & Packing

Untitled #58

Ever since Josh and I decided we were going Marrakesh I've been researching everything, one of the first things I read was it's an Islamic country and the woman dresses very modestly. Of course I want to be respectful of their culture and don't want to offend anyone or have people staring at me all day.

So I'm thinking loose and light weight maxi dresses and pants, a denim jacket for night-time, booties, converse, and a crossbody bag. In my head I'm picturing hippie-chic, kinda like a Free People catalog. Hopefully I look hippie-chic and not like a homeless person lol

We're going on an Adventure

Hey guys!! Life has taken over and I haven't been able to blog lately, but I'm trying to fit everything in.

Josh and I just booked our next vacation and I am SO FREAKIN' EXCITED!! We usually do the relaxing beach vacation, but this time we wanted to do something a little more adventurous and fun. So we're going to Marrakesh, Morocco in April! I have been researching a lot on everything from what to do, where to stay/eat, and what to wear. I kinda feel like Miranda when they wen't to Abu Dhabi lol

I read if you really want to experience Marrakesh you should stay in the Medina (the old town, where a lot of the local people live) So that's what we're doing. We'll be staying at the Raid Palais des Princesses. I'm planning to ride camels in the desert, go to the Atlas mountains, go to the spa, take a cooking class, shop at the souks, watch crazy snake charmers, eat weird stuff that I've never heard of lol Josh said he thinks I'm going to starve the whole time cause I can be picky about my food. But this whole trip is about experiencing a different culture and life so that's what I plan to do!

I was a little worried since I read a lot of stories about people trying to rip you off or giving you wrong directions or harassing you into buying something. But then I thought about it and I from a big city, I've dealt with this kind of stuff a lot and I'm good with saying just saying no and moving on. lol

Below are some photos of the hotel we booked! I cannot wait!!
Have you ever been somewhere completely different than your daily life?
