awesome '50s bar cart Josh and I found at an estate sale.

nothing is safe from Christmas decorations in this house. lol

It's been snowing all morning, so I'm hibernating in my dimly lit home until Josh wakes up.

Around the house.

A few detail shots of different rooms in our house. Everything is coming along well, and the house is almost all done! Well not all done there's still a few more little things we want to do, but for the most part everything is done.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!
P.S. I just updated my shop with some new goodies! : )

One room down, five more to go! Here a little peak into how our house is coming along. Josh had the idea to paint the pattern on the ceiling. I'm proud to say my boo is really good at interior decorating! lol

Bedroom Inspiration

So it's official Josh and I have a home! We're moving in next week, so I've been daydreaming and planning out how to decorate. Josh is really good with interior decorating so he's already set on how he wants to living dinning rooms. So I've been thinking of what I want our bedroom to look like.

I love crisp white walls with splashes of color in the linens and rugs. I also love Bohemian styles so that's what I'm drawn to for our bedroom. I've been collecting photos on Pinterest for inspiration so I decided to share them.

What does your home look like? Do you like bright and colorful rooms or are you into more neutral tones?

tis the season

Hey, I just want to share some Christmas decorations I have around the house.
I don't think we're getting a tree this year, but I might add some more sparkle.

the table looked so much better when I had a table cloth on it, but Layla spilled my coffee all over it this morning : /

DIY Bookcase

Good Morning Sunshine!
That's usually how I answer the phone when one of the girls call me in the morning. Since we're all friends you can get it too! : )

So today I thought I would share a DIY Josh did a while back. Remember in my DIY Closet post, where I said I took the shelves from a bookcase, well this is the bookcase. we didn't know how to finish

The back of the bookcase looks like wallpaper but it's not. All he did was spray paint over lace fabric.
I don't have pictures to show but it was done in two easy steps.
1. Before putting the shelf together take the back piece only and lay it flat.
2. Lay lace fabric over it & spray paint.
Easy right?!
*Make sure you wait til it's completely dry before removing the lace.

No we don't have kids, all of those games & Nerf guns are ours. lol

My Walk In + Craft area

So yesterday I told you I would show you how I sorta made a closet. Downstairs is just our bedroom so we didn't put up any doors, we just put a room divider to block it off if your looking down from the stairs. It's not like the amazing pictures I put up yesterday, but I really like how it turned out.

please don't mind that rolled up rug. I should of taken it out or re did the picture but I didnt realize till lookin back at the pictures.
This was a weird little corner at the end of the room that we really couldn't put anything into, so after convincing my boss to give me a clothes rack from work, we made it into our new closet.

To the right of the rack is where we put up our shelves for t-shirts and jeans. These shelves were originally suppose to be part of a 5 shelf bookcase that we have upstairs. While me and Josh were putting together the bookcase we couldn't figure out how to get past the third shelf, so we left it as a 3 shelf bookcase and used the rest for our closet. Re-use and Recycle is what we say! lol
Josh has way more shirts than I do. There's actually more than whats pictured. But I guess it's because all he really wears is jeans and tshirts. He doesn't remix his stuff like us girls do.

To the right of the "walk in" is where I keep all my craft and DIY stuff + the body form turned necklace holder. I made the body form after watching the tutorial on Threadbanger.
Where I keep my bangels and rings. The blue & white and brass holder were a gift from my mother. And the green jewlery box was made by Josh.

Basically the entire closet and craft area was put together with either stuff we already had or a DIY. The rack I took from work, dresser from my mothers house, storage bins were Joshs. The shelves, desk, jewlery box, and body form are all DIYs. So for spending little to no money on it, I think it turned out great.
What do you think?! You can be totally honest.
