Summer hair

My hair is super long and thick. So while I love the summer for the beach, pool, barbecues-- I hate it for my hair. Around here it gets super humid and the last thing I want is all this hair down my neck and back. So I want to share some of my favorite hairstyles that I usually wear all summer long.

My hair is getting super long! I don't know how it's growing so fast but it is. It hasn't been this long since I was about 13 years old. Usually once it gets a little past my shoulders I get bored and cut it all off. I think all of the pretty hairstyles on Pinterest has kept me from doing that this time.

I heard once that if you don't wash your hair a lot it will grow faster and I only wash my hair once a week-- usually Friday nights. (gross? lol) It doesn't get oily or greasy until like day 4 or 5 and by then I'm tired from work and school that I just use dry shampoo and put it in a top knot. Now you know my secret.. if I have a top knot that means it's time for a wash! lol

Here are just a few photos I took this weekend with my new camera. I've spent most of the time in a sweater and leggings so Layla stepped in and became my model. Isn't the last picture awesome?! I was so excited when I saw it..lol this camera is such an upgrade! (Josh actually cooked that.. It taste SO good too!) 

No Heat Curls

Hey guys! So I just want to share an awesome no heat curl tutorial I just found.

I saw this on pinterest and have been doing my hair like this basically everyday. It's so easy and seriously takes 5 minutes. You can watch the full how-to video here.

This day I did it in the morning and kept the band on while I did stuff around the house

I usually do it at night and take the band off in the morning.  

The first time I tried it I wasn't sure if it was really going to work, but I have to say I was impressed!

I didn't add any products before. Just a little hair spray when I took the band off. So I think if your hair is super straight and doesn't curl well you might need to add some kind of product before putting the band on.

So.. are you going to try it out?!

So this was my first time wearing a fedora. I've never really been a hat person except for the ones that keep you warm during winter. lol After the fashion show Saturday (I'll post those pictures tomorrow) my friend let me keep the hat and some accessories and I actually like it! I feel like I should be walking on the beach with a drink in my hand, instead I'm at work. booo

You can't tell in the picture I just like how my curls came out so I included it lol but I put a little bit of pink in my hair, it kinda looks more redish though. I like it for now but maybe I'll re-do it this weekend. You guys know I'm always doing something with my hair.

As you can tell I'm at work. I just wanted to sneak in an outfit post and update on my ombre hair. It actually looks a little lighter in person, but I'm happy with how it turned out. Before dying it I had to bleach the ends, which I know it soo bad for your hair but since mine is dark i knew the dye alone wouldn't cut it. Thankfully it doesn't feel dry or brittle on the ends yet.

I'm also pretty happy with this outfit. Yes it's simple and comfortable but not too dreadfully plain and boring. In my opinion. I made a knot on the inside to add a lil suttin extra. I originally saw it done by Dirty Hair Halo and thought it looked pretty cool. See how else I've worn this maxi here & here

Still bored with my hair so I'm going to be doing a little Ombre today! I've always dyed my own hair & this tutorial makes it look pretty easy so I'm going to give it a shot. Wish me luck, can't wait to see how it turns out!

Really a whole week without posting!? Sorry about going m.i.a on you guys..I just really havent been home a lot this week. I was helping my bestie move into a new apartment, working like a crazy person and studying for midterms and to top it off Josh left the camera in his uncles car!

Good news is, I passed my midterms & working crazy hours is over. I have saturday off for the first time in like a year! No lie.
Bad news, I still don't have the camera.

So since I decided to keep my long hair, I thought I would share some of the hairstyles I been loving.

Short&Chic vs Long&Wavy

So I always go in and out of these phases where for a while I want long pretty beachy wavey hair then I want to chop it off and get short low maintance but still super cute hair. Lately I've been leaning toward cutting off what I feel took a life time to grow. I usually never put so much thought into cutting my hair cause really.. it will grow back! But it took SO LONG this time.

When I was in high school I constantly changed it up. Whether it was dying it red, blonde, mix of red-orange-blondish that one was a mistake. Or just chopping it off out of the blue. I'm getting so bored with my hair now I feel like I need a change! So what do you think, should I cut it or keep it?!
